Close Reading The Hunger Games

hello world, today i was forced to read a book called THE HUNGER GAMES book 1 as you can imagine i hate all of the hunger games books, but i love and appreciate the MOVIES.

but as per the assignment, i found some uninteresting info about the portrayed society in this book and it included the following…….

1.     the society in the book is made up of the capital, the govt there is oppressive and not very compassionate. ‘’when i was younger i would scare my mother to death, the things i would say about district 12 and the people who rule our country.’’
2.     everyone in the districts are very poor and have little to no technology or even good food sometimes. ‘’even with us both hunting daily there are still nights when game has to be swapped for lard or shoelaces or wool, still nights when we go to bed with our stomachs growling.’’
3.     every year the capital hosts THE HUNGER GAMES this is where kids ages 12 - 18 fight to the death in an outside climate controlled dome arena. ‘’the 24 tributes are imprisoned in a vast outdoor arena that could hold anything from a burning desert to a frozen wasteland.’’

This is the very dumbed down version of the first hunger games book that demonstrates close reading just how i like it, stupidly.

  2. I've always hated reading.. But I came across the book "Liam's Promise" (Mentioned on this blog) and I have given reading a second chance. I haven't found a book as great as Liam's Promise yet but I've read four books in the past 4 months, a personal record! And I'm about to read the second book of Liam's Promise (Nester's Mistake). You won't know until you try it!
